Apple Cobble

22 years ago, my family bought a farm where the river smiles.  My parents planted several apple trees.  For the past 18 years, we have had many blessed apple harvests.

Apple Cobble is an easy, quick dessert you can whip up to have on a cozy, be-at-home day.  Great to serve with your favorite football movie or to curl up with for a snowy day's read.

Here is the recipe with pictures:  Cut up 9 small apples into eighths.

Combine apples with 1/2 of a cup of brown cane sugar, a 1/4 of teaspoon cardamom and a 1/2 of a teaspoon cinnamon in a bowl.

Place apple mixture into a buttered medium-sized, 8" x 8", glass baking dish.  Evenly pour 1/2 of cup of oatmeal or 2 packages of brown sugar instant oatmeal on top of apple mixture.  Melt 1/2 of a stick of butter in a small skillet on medium low.

Pour melted butter over the top of oatmeal topping and mix apples, oatmeal and butter lightly together.

Bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven for 35 minutes.  Delicious!
