Becca and the Sneaky Violinist Part 25
Post by Onna Carr
Becca and Ben drove me to the airport that next Monday. I said goodbye to Ben and Becca and watched them depart hand-in-hand when something wretched me to my senses. It was what Ben had told me at the beginning: “Guys do the asking and girls do the accepting.” “Becca?” I called as she turned, brushed her hand across her eyes, and came toward me with Ben. “I can’t be cautious. Perhaps I’ve made myself a fool, but I would rather risk idiocy than a life without you. Will you be my wife?” I asked. “Thank God,” Becca replied. “I did,” Ben declared.
“Where are we going?” Ben asked. “To get married,” I answered as Becca and I walked out of the airport with Ben between us. “Good. I never saw the point in long engagements,” Ben replied. “Ben!” Becca exclaimed with a laugh. “Well, why wait a year when you and Peter could be married now?” Ben queried. “Good question, I’ll never know the answer to that one,” I admitted with a smile. “I’m going to be a brother-in-law,” Ben declared. “Don’t let it go to your head,” I told him. “You two ought to have some kids: I want to be an uncle,” Ben replied “We’ll try to oblige you as soon as we can,” I answered with a grin at Becca, which she returned.
