Seward, Nebraska's 4th of July City, holds an annual antique/flea market during the holiday that draws hundreds of visitors. The market is located around the county's courthouse and is a wonderful, fun experience. Seward is a delightful, small town located thirty minutes from the state capital of Nebraska and is the home of Liberty House B & B and Antique Shop: a wonderful vacation destination located in the historic Goehner home, a beautiful, three-story brick home built at the turn of the last century.
Liberty House B & B and Antique Shop is one of the loveliest homes from the Victorian era I have yet to see and features original wood flooring and woodwork, stained glass windows, ornate tile flooring, a beautiful fireplace, and a frosted glass front door. The Goehner's were community leaders, and the nearby town of Goehner was even named after a member of their family. The business and home are currently for sale and would make a lovely home or new enterprise for individuals who love beautiful dwellings or want to start a new adventure, or both!:)
The B & B features 3 beautifully appointed rooms that will accommodate 2-4 people each, and two lovely bathrooms. The cost per room is under $100 and includes Internet, cable, and breakfast. The antique shop on the premises features unique and amazing finds: early 1900's dresses, dining booths from a nearby dance hall that Lawrence Welk performed in, and virtually everything in-between. This shop's marvelous, eclectic, reasonably-priced contents must truly be seen to be believed.
