Rise of Sharlock Holmes: Uncle Ed Remembers (Uncle Ed Remembers: Origins of 221B Book 1)--Part 6
As I approached the bar, I saw my brother, James Holmes, was sitting there, drinking his usual Shirley Temple. “Jamie, what are you doin’ here?” I asked. “What are you doin’ here? Did Maggie throw ye out?” Jamie asked with a grin.
Our mother, Mary, had had me with her first husband, who had unexpectedly passed away when I was in primary school. She had waited until I graduated from primary school and then married a very decent Scotsman and had had Jamie when I was fifteen.
Jamie had just recently moved back to Dublin to teach at Trinity in mathematics. Maggie is my wife who at that time had been married to me for ten years. Maggie happened to be about with her girlfriends that evening else I would have been at home, eating somethin’ delightful she made up in the Instapot.
